We know to solve a linear system Ax = b but how can we use it? Through a series of webinars, we’ll explore answers to this question. In fact, the logo at the top of this web page gives a hint on the applications we’ll discuss from Google’s PageRank algorithm for ranking web pages to sport ranking methods used by the Bowl Championship Series to computer graphics to data mining a set of movie ratings.
We will explore these topics in four, 60-minute-long webinars, appropriate for both faculty and students. Each webinar will also pose project and research questions for further exploration.
